Samantha: "Hi my name is Samantha an I’m 11 years old. I live on the sailing vessel Jarokinbah. We are on ourr way to the Marquesas from the Galapagos. We have just gone past half way. This passage is 3000 miles long and we are on our 11th day. Because this is such a long passage we have crew. His name is Damian, he’s from Wagga, Australia, his nick-name is Wagga Weirdo. My brother, Bradley, and I do homeschool for three ours a day but not on the weekend or on passage. For some of my schoolwork I am lerning Spanish, I only know a little though. We have caught about 6 fish an have lost twice es many lures. Well it’s time we through this message in a bottle overboard. See you, Samantha"
Sandra: "This message in a bottle comes from the good ship Jarokinbah from New Zealand. Our current position is 06° 25′ South 115° 26′ West and we are on passage from the Galapagos Islands to the Marquesas. We have been at sea for 10 days and crossed the half way mark yesterday. We hope to get there in about another 10 – 19 days, although right now there is a little wind. We are a crew of 5. I am First Mate i.e wife, mother, cook, cleaner, fisher etc. My husband and 2 children (ages 11, 9) plus a Crewman make up the rest. Our family is from NZ. We left NZ in August 2001 and will complete our circumnavigation at the end of this year. Cheers, Sandra"
Mark: "Hello, I am the father of Samantha (12) and Bradley (9), Husband of Sandra (31). We have been circumnavigating the world on our 52′ Oran Ketch named Jarokinbah. The name is made up from the original owners family Jan-Ron-Kim-Natalie, Barry and Helen. We should be home in NZ at the end of November 2005. We are currently 1419 miles from the Marquesas (Frensh Polynesia). We have less than 5 knots of wind and are doing 3.5 knots. Our first 6 days we travelled 1000 miles. It is now day 10. Chaia, Mark. Ups: I forgot Damian (26), Australian crew."
Damian: "Sailing across the pacific for 11 days now and just passed halfway. Seas are calm and not much wind at this time of the passage, but had a great start! There is only 6 days to get till the 2nd match of the Rugby League State of Origin and hopefully I will be able to listen to it on the SSB. Seems I was going to watch the game in Sydney, Australia. Hope N.S.W wins. Looking forward to getting to the Marquesas to finish the passage from the Galapagos Islands. See you later, crew man Damian. P.S. We had to drink this bottle of wine to send these. So this was quite a rememberable experience."
Mal sehen, was dabei rauskommt.

Hi there – my family is very excited that our message in the bottle has finally arrived at a destination! Thanks so much for making contact and we will phone Floyd and say hello – one day hopefully we will meet in person!
Cheers, Sandra
